Melwood, a longstanding nonprofit in Arlington that provides jobs, employment training services, and community support for adults with disabilities, owns a building on 23rd Street near Crystal City. They have applied to redevelop the building to add 105 units of Committed Affordable Housing, in a building that will feature accessibility. Their training operations will remain in the new building. Melwood has previously said units will be set aside for people with disabilities. There will be no change to the adjacent Nelly Custis Park.
